by Ashly Lovett

A tribute piece to the comic book character Hellboy created by writer and illustrator Mike Mignola. I wanted to explore mark-making that could pay homage to Mike Mignola’s graphic pen and ink work. This piece will be matted and signed in the bottom right corner.

12″x15″ Chalk pastel on BFK Rives paper.

Note: This chalk pastel piece is not sprayed with fixative. Fixative alters the color of chalk pastel drastically. It will be matted and placed in a plastic sleeve when shipped.

"My goal for every illustration is to use the character's eyes to really engage the viewer. That is, by far, my favorite challenge. My work is of the horror and fantasy genre, often with a dark romanticism undertone."
