Another piece in my ongoing series of small paintings exploring the portrait amidst clouds and stars, inspired by the soft and dreamy feeling of vintage photographs of anonymous Victorian and Edwardian ladies and silent film starlets. I really enjoy how they provide me with references of unique and varied faces, while having a distinctly non-modern sensibility that lends them a magical feeling of another time and place.

Oil on panel, 4×6 inches. The ornate silver frame is 8 x 10 x 1 3/8 inches in total, and is ready to hang or sit.
